VOLUNTEER

Sixth Street Shelter is grateful for our volunteers who help us conduct our mission of helping families experiencing homelessness in the Lehigh Valley. Volunteers are an instrumental part of our operations by helping us prepare apartments and sort donations.

We're seeking groups of volunteers and/or volunteers who can offer long-term assistance. Currently, we're looking for people to help us organize and clean our storage room. Tasks may include:

-Organize shelved products and donated treasures

-Review and refresh item expiration dates

-Separate items that are beyond repair

-Conduct an inventory sweep of donated items

Time: Weekdays between 9am and 3pm, flexible hours available!

Requirements

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and be accompanied by an adult if between the ages of 16 and 18.

Please make sure your child abuse clearances and background check have been submitted to Victoria at vbeck@live.com.

Parking

There is free parking available behind the building at Sixth Street Shelter:

219 N Sixth Street

Allentown, PA 18102

Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities would be best if the interested individual is available for long-term volunteering or if a group volunteers. We offer volunteer opportunities in donation sorting, gardening and groundskeeping, and administration.
